On Saturday, April 26, youth from the McCullough Hills Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Henderson United Presbyterian Church, and the Silver Sage Muslim Faith community participated in an interfaith service project benefiting Catholic Charities, Spread the Word Nevada, and the Ronald McDonald House.
Over 80 youth assembled 76 summer comfort kits along with donations of at least 200+ additional pairs of socks, lotions, and deodorant that were donated to Catholic Charities.
The youth also worked together to clean 4,000 books for Spread the Word Nevada, made plastic yarn for homeless mats, and decorated many cards for the Ronald McDonald House.
When asked about the experience one youth said, “It was nice to work with people from different groups to help our community. My favorite part was cleaning the books and talking with my friends and getting to know new people .”
