The Las Vegas FamilySearch Center is hosting the 2026 Family History Expo on May 2, a family history event offering opportunities for individuals and families to learn how to discover, preserve, and share their family stories.

The event will feature a variety of classes designed to help participants explore their heritage and connect with past generations. With four different workshops to choose from each hour, ranging from beginner level to advanced classes.  Each workshop will be taught by talented and engaging Genealogists.

Workshops include topics such as:

  • Building a timeline for your Family Tree
  • Fixing errors in your Family Tree
  • AI for Beginners: How to start using AI tools in your genealogy
  • Recursos para la Investigaction Genealogica en Lantino America
  • Immigration crossing the Ocean: Finding the records of your ancestors’ arrival

Rod Leavitt, FamilySearch Center Director, tells us, “If you come to the Family History Expo you’ll be able to see how artificial intelligence is really enhancing the ability to do family history work. You’ll find some new programs that are available to help you to prioritize your family, to create a YouTube channel for your family, and how to do a better job of organizing the information on your family. This Las Vegas Family History Expo is a good opportunity for everybody to learn about the Las Vegas FamilySearch Center, to see the resources and facilities that we have available here, and to increase their talents in FamilySearch.”

The Expo will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the FamilySearch Center located at 509 s. 9el Street, Las Vegas, NV 89117.
