Now in it’s third year, this year’s Moapa Valley Interfaith Community Christmas Program was a joyful celebration of unity and faith, bringing together an estimated 400 people from Christian congregations throughout the Moapa Valley. The event was hosted at the St. John’s Catholic Church of Moapa Valley.
Multiple congregations collaborated together for this special night of worship. St. John’s Catholic Church, Moapa Christian Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and members from other congregations worked together to present an uplifting evening filled with music, scripture, and heartfelt worship. The program featured moving Christmas hymns paired with scripture readings and prayers, along with inspiring musical numbers from a youth choir and a gifted young soloist. Presidents Brandon Leavitt and Chad Leavitt, Stake Presidents from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Father Henry of St. John’s Catholic Church, and Della & Anthony Franks- leaders of the Moapa Christian Church, each shared final remarks with those in attendance.
Kevin Willard, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, put it beautifully:
“It’s comforting for everyone in the room to say, hey, we all believe in Jesus Christ. We all have our own way of doing it, but when it really comes down to it we all worship Jesus Christ and are celebrating His birth.”
The annual event was born of a desire to unite Christians across the valley and that message truly defined the evening—unity in Christ, joyful worship, and a strengthened sense of community.
This beautiful community Christmas program continues to expand as more hearts and congregations and participants join each year to create an event where all can come together in celebration, reverence, and love.
