Aliante Stake Hosts Backpack Drive for Lighthouse Charities

The Aliante Stake hosted a backpack drive for Lighthouse Charities this month. Lighthouse Charities assists refugees in getting from the border to various host destinations throughout the United States. The refugees often show up with only the clothes on their backs.
Realizing there was a need they could help with, the Aliante Stake collected backpacks that Lighthouse Charities can fill with food, supplies, and clothing before sending the refugees on their way.
The Stake created an Amazon wish list where people could order backpacks to be sent directly for collection. This was posted on JustServe and shared with friends and neighbors in the Stake and community.
Between the Amazon wish list and people dropping off new and gently used backpacks, they were able to collect a total of 158 backpacks!
Lighthouse Charities was grateful for the donations.
